NEC Wireless
NEC Wireless was the first to launch a 3G phone in Japan. In this design only project we created this design to signify the event at CTIA 2000. The design involved a 36 foot spherical wireframe structure symbolic of the globe and the notion that NEC's domestic market share was not representative of its global stature in the development of both networks and handsets. The large graphic area at the rear of the structure utilized a combination of projected and printed imagery. This balance of structure and content created a unique and inspiring environment. The exhibit was featured on the cover of Wireless Week and the designer, Finn Yonkers won an American Graphic Design Award, featured in the Design USA annual hardcover.
